History

Arne Petersen, founder and developer of Taino Beach Resort & Clubs, played a significant role in the timeshare and vacation ownership industry in Freeport. He also became the single largest owner of timeshare properties on Grand Bahama Island. Arne was an active member in the Bahamas Vacation Ownership TimeShare Council, and a major driving force in the development of current Bahamas TimeShare Legislation. Denmark was his country of birth, but the Bahamas was his country of choice. Arne was born on May 4, 1936 in the small town of Mollerup, in Central Jutland, Denmark. In 1977, he moved to the Bahamas and became totally assimilated in the Bahamian culture and its way of life. In 1991, he was granted Bahamian citizenship.
