FAQ: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How your Vacation Club Membership
works:
Each member will be billed for their
annual maintenance fees on June 1 of every year. Your vacation
year will run from June 1 to May 31 of every year.
You must make your reservations between
your Vacation year or you will LOSE your week. Your time will
not "holdover" or "accrue" automatically. During each membership
year, you must request your week(s) to be assigned to you for your use.
If you want to holdover your vacation until a later date, you will simply
have a dated assigned to you and we will space bank it with R.C.I.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Maintenance fees are due on June 1, or when you are making your reservations,
which ever comes first. You must be up to date (i.e. not past due 30
days) with your finance payments (if any) and your annual Maintenance
fees must be paid for that year. This will ensure that you will be confirmed
for your reservations. We do reserve the right to cancel your reservations,
should your payments be delinquent.
Do I own a Fixed or Floating week?
Your membership is for a Floating week.
Your year runs from June 1 to May 31 each year.
How do I confirm my reservation?
You MUST
confirm your reservation by phone, fax, or e-mail not earlier than 12
months and no later than 30 days in advance of your requested time.

What if I am not using my week?
Whether or not you are using you week
or not you MUST contact our office. If you are a current member with
R.C.I you can space bank your week, and they will hold it up to (2)
two years. Your time will not "holdover" or "accrue" automatically.
If you fail to make reservations between June 1 and May 31, you will
lose your week. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
What if I wanted to visit another
Resort?
Again you will need to contact us first
and we will bank a week for you with R.C.I. You may then contact R.C.I
(1-800-338-3333) and give them the dates and the Resort you would like
to exchange to. You may also visit their website, www.rci.com to look through their directory of resorts around
the world. Since R.C.I is an independent company it is very important
that you put in your request as far in advance as possible so that R.C.I.
will have the necessary time to accommodate you.
What are yearly Maintenance Fees?
They are fees which are paid each year
to the Resort for the maintenance of the resort. Just like taking care
of a home, resort maintenance fees help take care of the quality and
future of the resorts property. In a vacation membership resort, maintenance
cost is shared by all members. They pay for onsite management, unit
upkeep, and refurbishing, utilities and maintenance of the resort's
common areas and amenities, such as pool, tennis courts, landscaping
and ferry services. Just like residential condominium owners, after
management has been turned over to vacation owners, they determine the
fees through the Board of Directors. The amount of the yearly maintenance
fee typically depends on the size, location, and amenities of the resort.
Maintenance fees are assessed and paid annually by each Vacation Club
Member.
How can I pay my Maintenance Fee?
All billings and payments for your maintenance
fees are being handled by Conrad Acceptance Corporation. You may
pay your Maintenance Fee with a major credit card, or mail a check made
out to:

What happens if I pay my Maintenance
Fees late?
You will be assessed a 25% late charge
for all delinquent maintenance fees. Please ensure that you make your
payments in a timely manner. Your check must be posted to your account
prior to due date to avoid late fees.
What
if..we don't travel in a given year, do we have to pay the Maintenance
Fees?
Regardless of whether or not you use
your membership, there are real cost generated in the administration
and operation of the resorts; costs that are calculated to be covered
by the annual Maintenance Fees. This is why it is absolutely necessary
that you send your Maintenance Fees prior to or by your Anniversary
Date or upon requesting a reservation, which ever comes first.
What does floating time mean?
Floating time refers to the use of vacation
accommodations during various times or seasons. Your resort is a year
round floating time. You may reserve a week at anytime during your Anniversary
period each year. The owner must reserve his or her desired vacation
time in advance, with reservation confirmation typically provided on
a first come first served basis.
How do lockout units work?
"Lock off" or "lockout" units
allow vacations owners to occupy a portion of the unit and offer the
remaining space for rental or exchange. These units typically consist
of two bedrooms and two baths, or three bedrooms and three baths.
This is only available at the Ritz or Coral Suites.
A Grand Villa is considered a three bedroom
or a four-bedroom lockout capacity of four weeks (2 weeks in studio
and 2 weeks in efficiencies.) Or spend 1 week in a Grand Villa and sleep
a maximum of twelve people!

At what time is check in and check
out?
Check in time is after 4:00 pm and check
out time is 10:00am. If you arrive early you can store your luggage
in our office and enjoy our facilities.
Do you provide a shuttle service to
and from the Airport and the resort?
By the law the Club is not allowed to
provide any shuttle service to or from the airport, therefore you will
have to take a taxi. Distance to the club is about 10 Miles and the
cab fare for two should not exceed U.S $25.00.
Do you rent snorkeling or fishing
equipment on site?
The resort does provide snorkeling or
fishing equipment at the Watersports Booth on the Beach for a small
fee.
Are there Watersports activities offered
at the Resort?
Yes! We have two watersports booth located
on the beach. Located onsite are wave runners, banana boat, kayaks,
paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boats and we can arrange parasailing.

Are there any Supermarkets near by?
The nearest Supermarket is about 2 miles
away. It would be beneficial to you if you would bring some of your
most needed food supplies (coffee, meat etc.) as food costs are generally
twice as high as in the U.S.A. There should be no customs charges if
within reason and the $100.00 limit. We are also only 10 minutes away
from Port Lucaya Marketplace,
which is home to over 80 restaurants, bars and shops.
Do you provide a shuttle service to
the supermarket?
The resort provides a complementary Grocery
Shop run for our guest on certain days. Check with the front desk upon
check in for scheduled times.
Do you provide a shuttle to Port
Lucaya Marketplace?
We have a Ferryboat that leaves from
the dock every hour on the hour going into Port Lucaya beginning at
8:00am -11:00pm, behind the Flamingo Bay Hotel located across form the
Resort. The cost for the ferry is $2.50 one way per person, and we ask
you to check schedule at front desk as schedule is subject to change.
Are you located on the beach?
Yes! Our resort is located on one of
the most beautiful and pristine beaches on Grand Bahama Island.
Do you provide beach towels?
Beach towels are provided with no additional
cost to you.
Is there a restaurant on site?
Yes, we have the elegant Taino by the
Sea. We also have a bar located at the restaurant and one by the pool.
Do all of your units have irons, ironing
boards & microwave ovens?
All of our units are fully equipped with
irons, ironing boards, microwave ovens, and hair dryers.

How far are you from the nearest Casino?
We are just 3 miles away from the newly
opened Isle of Capri Casino, located in the Port Lucaya area.
Are there car rentals?
The usage of car will greatly reduce
your travel expense since you can not depend on our Public Bus Service
in the evenings. Luckily, we can arrange for car rentals, however we
do rent scooters onsite.
Are there telephones in the units?
Each unit comes ready with telephone
usage.
What are the average temperatures?
In Grand Bahama, the daily maximum temperature
for the summer season is at high of 90 degrees and a minimum low of
54 degrees. The average winter reports are normally at a high of 87
degrees, and a low of 46 degrees. Average humidity is 78 degrees. Local
daily weather reports can be obtained by phoning 915.
Do you supply cribs?
Yes! To ensure one will be reserved for
you, please inform reservations that you will need one for the duration
of your stay.
What if we are arriving a day early
or staying later than Saturday?
You are always welcomed to book as many
nights stay at our hotel (located on property, across the street.)
FOR MEMBERS ONLY: You have the privilege of staying at our Hotel
for a discounted rate of $50.00 rental of the room, plus an additional
$15.00 room tax per person, per night. When you are making your
reservations for your week, you can request additional nights at the
hotel.

how do I make Airline reservations?

Travel Agency is always there to assist you. They are located in Florida,

lowest airfares, car rentals, cruises and tours. Even if you are not
returning to the resort, you can contact them to make your travel arrangements.
They can also book extra nights at our Flamingo Bay Hotel.
